To quote College Football Hall of Famer and ex-ESPN analyst Emmitt Smith, we got “debacled” on Saturday. We were a team with no personality, no heart, making stupid mistake after stupid mistake and it seems that we are a team, unless things change drastically, that will not see the playoffs this year. I will not go into the specifics of the game since the video below says it all.

We got run off the field by a team that lost its main offensive threat when Kenny Cooper left. The other guy our team needed to watch for was Jeff Cunningham; we watched him so well that we decided to watch him score 4 times on us and our team made him look like he could have played with Barcelona that night in LA instead of in Dallas.

I will say what I had mentioned a few months back: it seems that the kool aid that Onalfo is serving is not the same one the players want to drink. Change is needed and fast but I doubt it will come fast enough; at this point I’d vote to just go ahead and play alot of the reserves the rest of the year with the players we know we will keep, so the new coach sees what he has and then just let him, and the new TD just clean house. Yes, that means you too must go Mr. Vermes.

Player Ratings:
-2 across the board for everyone except for McKenzie and Hirsig (6 giveaways that have led to a goal) who deserve a 0.

The Ref:
Although this score can in no way be blamed on the ref, I would like to point out to Mr. Chapin that although he does look kind of “girlish” himself (no offense to girls all over the world) and would not seem to be someone that takes part in physical sports, in soccer, when 2 players are fighting and struggling for the ball with no pulling of jerseys and the bigger player “outmuscles” (new word for Mr. Chapin) the smaller one like it happens all over the world, there is no reason to call a penalty; that is what we call PLAYING SOCCER! Hopefully, for your safety Mr. Chapin, you are not a FIFA certified ref that could eventually go to any CONCACAF country and officiate a game, since I can tell you right now, people are killed for stupid calls like that.

Here are the lowlights of the game.

Who is to blame?

Off to Pizza Hut Park, where they serve things hot. Another challenging couple of weeks ahead, with lots of travel involved. After coming from Carolina to here, they’ll go to Seattle and face the Sounders in the quarterfinal of the US Open Cup, then back to KC to play two games in two days, the first against New York next Thursday, and then Atlas in a friendly. All in all it will be four games in seven days, a tough stretch for a team looking to catch a break.

Tonight is a chance to start anew and fresh. One win last week, and a chance to make it two in a row. It’s going to come down to goals. Someone please score. El Piojo, Ivan Trujillo, Scott Sealy. Anyone. Even Jimmy Conrad. Or Kevin Hartman. Bear in mind that this team struggled a bit last season scoring with Eddie Johnson, removing him has made things worse. The turn of the tide starts today. On defense, shutting down Kenny Cooper is the biggest challenge, something that Jimmy should handle with ease. Once that’s taken care of, attack, attack, attack. A big game today could help break the Wiz out of this scoring funk and hopefully up the MLS table a bit. Dallas is missing a couple of their important cogs, with Dax McCarty and Arturo Alvarez both missing out through injury. Let’s keep Schellas Hyndman winless in MLS play. You can do it!
