Preseason
Now What? Starting from the top.
By: Herschel |So now that the passion/disappointment has simmered a bit after a below mediocre season, I figured I’s sit and look at the team as a whole and write about what I thought should happen for 2010.
Previews from around the Net…
By: travis |I think that I’ve covered whatever angles a preview has to offer. Now with that exhausting task completed, I’ve searched the Internets for different MLS previews and am brining to my dear loyal readers here a list of every single one I can compile of the 2008 KC Wizards season.
First and foremost, the big guns [...]
Extended season preview, part two: Midfield
By: travis |Moving on to the next part: the midfield. The Wizards midfield oozes quality and skill, as well as a wealth of experience. They’ll be the foundation and will carry the team to whatever level they reach this season.
Part Two: Midfield
Kerry Zavagnin: One of the rocks of the midfield, has played his entire MLS career with [...]
Extended season preview, part one: Defense
By: travis |I’ve written a quite lengthy preview already for the MLS/Offside main page, but I thought I’d explore the Wizards outlook player by player for 2008. Using a variety of websites, I’ve done my best to give a short background of each player and where they will play, and give a prediction how they’ll do. With [...]
Argentinian Photo shoot
By: travis |With not much going on in Wizards camp (players resumed training Tuesday), new signings Ivan Trujillo and Claudio Lopez put on their kits for the cameras. Here’s a sample of Lopez in the home jersey:

Bidding adios to Argentina
By: travis |The Wizards packed up at headed to the airport today, and are set to resume training next Tuesday in KC. Their last game in Argentina was a 3-0 loss to Estudiantes, marking their first loss of the Argentina leg of the preseason. They had previously won 3-0 against Club Atletico San Lorenzo, and the reserves [...]
Another Argentina victim
By: travis |Now that Claudio Lopez has officially joined the team, there is much less to talk about. The Wizards continue their training in Argentina, and won their latest friendly 2-1 over River Plate. Goals were scored by Jack Jewsbury and Kevin Souter, one of the players on trial (kind of a funny way to put it). [...]
LOPEZ TO JOIN WIZARDS
By: travis |Ahh, at last. Some relief from these incessant rumors. A number of sources are reporting that Lopez is going to join the Wizards. In fact, he already has, with Goff reporting he has spoken to Coach Onalfo and says that Lopez has flown to Buenos Aires and joined the team. I’ll throw in the qualifier [...]
Don’t cry for me Argentina…
By: travis |After the Wizards keep beating your club teams. Sure, they’re friendlies. Sure, one could argue that they’re meaningless. Ok, they are friendlies and they are meaningless (at least record-wise). But the squad is getting good results with lots of changes and in different surroundings so it’s hard not to be optimistic. Hillcrest has a detailed [...]
Rain, Rain go away…

It has now been rescheduled til Tuesday. The other three teams on the schedule are Velez Sarsfield, River Plate, and Boca Juniors. [...]
