Preview: Returning home against Columbus
By: travis | June 14th, 2008A return home this weekend. It was a long time coming as well after six straight games on the road. The result was only five points. That’s not going to cut it come playoff time. Lopez needs to get on the board for the Wizards and start taking charge of the offense. The biggest problem for the Wizards has been scoring – they’ve conceded 13 while only notching 10 goals this season. That’s not going to get them into any kind of position for the playoffs. It’s not the end of the world if they can’t pick up a win on their return home, but it won’t help things much. They’ve faced a lot of ups and downs with the younger defense but still have four shutouts so far. I think they might be able to escape tomorrow with a win.
