KC Wizards and NY Red Bulls to Scrimmage tomorrow.
By: Michael | February 12th, 2007Tuesday marks the first time the Wizards will face another team in 2007. At 10AM eastern time, the Wizards will kick off a pre-season scrimmage against the New York Red Bulls. Midfielder Sasha Victorine, formerly of the LA Galaxy, put the team’s attitude into perspective going into the scrimmage:
“We are excited for the scrimmage and to take it up a notch on the field. Even though it is early, tomorrow will be a good barometer for where we stand and what we need to work on. We are primarily concerned with how we play as a unit tomorrow rather than the score, but we are all still big competitors and we will compete hard tomorrow.”
I’m personally eager to read about how the new draftees do, as well as up-and-comers such as Ryan Pore. Scrimmages typically feature a plethora of substitutions and light game play, so seeing those who won’t get a chance to play as much in the regular season is their biggest plus.
I’ll be posting the results (as much as the vague official news release will tell me) of the scrimmage tomorrow. Also upcoming, as per request, will be a breakdown of the Wizards’ off-season moves, including the draft.
