Looking to rebound
By: travis | April 12th, 2008The first loss of the season came during what I thought was a winnable match. The Revolution were undermanned, but their younger role players stepped up and helped to win the first half and the game. They played quite well to their credit, although the Wizards gave them help with shoddy defending. The Revolution’s first win of the season came against today’s opponents, as the Dynamo come to town in what will be the end of an opening season homestand for the Wizards. After tonight’s match, the next two months will be on the road. Coming away with all three points tonight would be excellent.
The other note on tonight’s game? Revenge. On their way to winning last season’s MLS Cup, the Dynamo knocked the Wizards out by the score of 2-0. The preview from the Kansas City Star has details on how the match remains fresh in the memory of a few players. So getting Houston back this early in the season would be sweet. And they are a few men short at the moment and also lost during the week.
Verdict:
Wizards 1-0 Houston
Time for two months away from KC.
