Oh Canada, what did you do to John Carver? (KC-TOR Pregame)
By: Herschel | April 26th, 2009Kansas City travels to Toronto to face a John Carver-less team. The Coach up and quit; details are sketchy. Toronto has been up and down this season after their opening day win, while KC is riding a 4 game unbeaten streak during which good soccer has been limited to a few moments here and there.
With the recent results I expect the same lineup from Curt Onalfo, who as we all know will not change a lineup unless he loses or due to injury (regardless of how bad the team plays). The only exception will be that Jack Jewsbury might be out with a concussion which means that Onalfo will make his 1st regular game sub from the beginning of the game, bringing Michael Harrington into the game on the wing and moving Hirsig to holding mid; basically the way KC played after the 34th minute in the NY game. This means that we might actually see another KC player as a sub after Espinoza and Kraus come in as subs.
Toronto will be without Dwayne DeRosario so their midfield will be weaker. Still, Amado Guevara has always been a thorn in our side and I expect this game to be no different, especially because we will be lacking a true holding mid.
Although I hope for a tie, which I consider a good result, I feel our streak might end here.
What I hope: KC-1 TOR-1
What I think: KC-1 TOR-2
