There’s the defense (and a point), but where’s the video?
By: travis | April 12th, 2008Well how about that for a turn around. Obviously it would be nicer to have scored, but the Wizards did well to at least shut out the Dynamo yesterday, earning a 0-0 draw. At least I guess they did well. You see, because of reasons that I have yet to discover, I cannot watch any highlights of the game. Can’t find them anywhere yet. To be fair, it ended a mere 6 hours ago. But where are the highlights on MLSnet.com? I hope that my whining becomes irrelevant soon.
This are quick hits from the recaps I’ve checked out:
- Attacking midfielder Carlos Marinelli was subbed out when he pulled his hamstring in the 26th minute. Not good.
- From the recaps, striker Scott Sealy missed a couple of chances in front of the net. Bummer.
- Onfalo continues to have an attacking mindset, putting Ivan Trujillo in with 10 minutes left. Why not go for broke?
- My previous post announced Chance Myers started. What I didn’t mention after was that another draft pick, Carlos Espinoza, also was in the lineup.
The Wizards now go on the road for two months. 7 points out of a possible 12? Not bad. The next home game is June 14. While it remains early in the season, these next two months will speak a lot about their chances. Can they surprise people and make a run at the MLS Cup? I think if the defense can keep it together, odds will increase significantly. Til next time.
Next Opponent:
The Chicago Fire hardly looked convincing in their 1-0 victory against San Jose in California. However, I would expect them to be fired up and provide a stern road test for the Wizards.
