Wizards game in Saint Louis Redux. What do you think?
By: Herschel | May 15th, 2009I’ve expressed my opinion strongly about the Wizards playing this game in Saint Louis. What’s your take on how this turned out? Vote in the online poll.
I admit I might be a bit biased because I can’t make it to the game and because recently the Wizards Sales Dpt gave me the cold shoulder when to helping a local school because I dismissed their salesperson’s hint that it would be easier to get the “higher ups” to approve the help if I bought a Season Ticket Package. The FO is not on my good side right now, and a game in STL doesn’t help.
To the team and its players I give all my support, to the Front Office I can only say that if they were to call me, I’d have to take the Seinfeld approach to hearing them out.

I just stumbled upon your blog, glad to see a great Wizards fan blog. I read your previous entry about this fiasco, but is there any reason they can’t play at Arrowhead for this game? It seems to me that big matches could draw 15k + fans, easily enough to populate at least the lower deck of the stadium.

The reason given for not using Arrowhead is the renovation it’s going through. Last year for the LA Galaxy game there was construction and the game was still played there.
Still, it seems that the scale of work this year is larger and that might be the reason (or at least the official line given). I just don’t buy the “there are no other alternatives story” but the fire seems to be dying down and fans are starting to just accept it.
It’s just sad that the first “competitive” international game for KC in years will be in Saint Louis.Posted from
