Wizards win out in New Mexico
By: travis | May 31st, 2008KC won the inaugural New Mexico Cup out in Albuquerque, getting two goals from little-used Ivan Trujillo. They won with a final score of 2-0, a good boost of confidence. I still think the timing of the friendly is a bit odd, but everyone seems to have come through unscathed. Running commentary of the match is available here courtesy of Hillcrest Road. As I expected, Lopez got a rest today, along with Kevin Hartman. Lineups here:
First Half
————-Kronberg—————
Leathers–Conrad–Wahl–Harrington
Arnaud–Jewsbury–Zavagnin–Marinelli
——-Pore———Trujillo———
Second half:
————-Kronberg———-
Myers–McKenzie–Hohlbein–Marquess
Souter–Morsink–McMahen–Pore
——-Colombano—-Trujillo———-
One of the goals came courtesy of a Carlos Marinelli free kick, the favorite method of scoring on the season. The first half featured most of the starters, and the reserves got a chance in the second half. I’ll keep a look out for highlights, although I’m not sure if it was televised.
